Life Purpose Statement
Are you smarter than a 5th grader?
That is about the time when you learned about similes and metaphors?
Do you remember what they are? Do you recall how to use them?
They are both figures of speech.
A simile is a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid. With a simile we often compare one thing with another using like or as.
A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action but is not literally applied. For example brave as a lion, or sly as a fox.
In your Life Purpose Statement you will be using a metaphor to initially describe yourself.
Take a few moments to quiet your mind and begin to think about who you are. What initially comes to mind comes to mind to describe yourself?
Fill in the blank
I am a _______________________ (metaphor)
Sit with that metaphor for a while…
Now…search for more descriptive words to portray how the characteristics of that metaphor give shape to your true self.
In our coaching session we would continue on and word craft describing what you do and the specific impact you make on people by being who you are.
This concise personal statement will not only define who you are, but will represent you and your over arching life’s work.
This impact statement will give you clarity to continue to be your courageous self!
