Lead With Your Strengths

I love this concept!

Years ago when I worked in volunteer management it seemed the only way to go.  If you wanted volunteers to do a good job, and work with passion, the easy solution was to give them a job they loved and were good at.

At the time I often felt like a master chess player, strategically moving people into the right positions, until there was a precise fit.  Initially it took some time to get to know each person and observe them at work.

However, In  2001, The Gallup Organization put out their first book, and since the online assessment, which now brings ease to this dilemma.

StrengthsFinder 2.0 – Gallup

To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, the Clifton StrengthsFinder, which helped millions to discover their top five talents. In StrengthsFinder 2.0, Gallup unveils the new and improved version of its popular assessment, language of 34 themes, and much more.

Love the title!

StrengthsFinder 2.0

Now, rather than merely observing a person in the work environment and mine out the potential strengths like a gold digger.  StrengthsFinder 2.0 is available to do the hard work for you.

I highly recommend taking the online test, and becoming familiar with your own signature strengths, or in layman terms, your own God given talents.

According to Gallop, each of us has within us a set of ‘strengths’ that we are born with and are within us.  From our subjective perspective, we often don’t see these talents as strengths, because they are things we do automatically, naturally and with ease.

However, the premise is, once we recognize our own strengths, we can build on them.  Rather than spending time and energy trying to improve our weaknesses with little gain, the outcome will expand exponentially, when we put our energy put into honing our strengths.

We can go from good to great, as we become more aware of who we are in our strengths, and confidently lead with them!
